Procurement Manager

Introduction

Mogale Tailings Retreatment (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Pan African Resources (Pty) Ltd based in Krugersdorp is looking for a Procurement Manager. As a Procurement Manager , you will report to the Manager: Finance and Administration and support the operations team with procurement and contract administration functions, while ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.

• Ensure procurement compliance with company policies, mining regulations, and relevant legislation (e.g., BBBEE, MFMA where applicable).

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

• Oversee inventory management and collaborate with warehouse and operations to optimize stock levels.

• Lead and develop the procurement team, setting clear KPIs and fostering continuous improvement.

• Coordinate with finance and legal departments for budgeting, payments, and contract administration.

• Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize procurement activities.

• Prepare regular procurement reports and dashboards for senior management.

• Drive sustainable procurement practices and local supplier development initiatives.

• Be hands on to ensure all procurement is done timeously on a lowest total cost of ownership for all spend.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 essential.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business administration aligned to Engineering / Construction or Mining Environment or similar.

• No Criminal Record.

• 7+ years in procurement or supply chain roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.

• Proven experience in the mining sector or heavy industry preferred.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.

• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.

• Sound knowledge of South African procurement laws and BBBEE regulations.

• Tender evaluation and adjudication.

• Preparation of project pricing documents.

• Contract drafting and negotiation.

• Excellent communication in English, both writing and verbal and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work extended hours.

• Mine health and Safety Act awareness.

• Ability to interact within a multi-disciplined team.

• Computer literacy is required in this position.
