Procurement Manager (Manufacturing Environment)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop procurement specifications and requirements for products and services.
• Manage purchasing of materials and ensure availability within budget.
• Develop strategies to improve procurement and supply chain efficiency.
• Manage supplier payments, relationships and performance.
• Monitor inventory levels, procurement costs and expenditure.
• Lead, supervise and develop the procurement team, including task allocation and performance management.
• Analyse procurement, inventory, sales and expense reports and identify improvement opportunities.
• Report procurement performance and activities to management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO requirements, and Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Maintain effective departmental administration and housekeeping.
• Promote teamwork, productivity and a positive working environment.
• Address procurement-related queries, issues and complaints professionally.
• Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the immediate supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar procurement role , preferably within steel or manufacturing .
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement processes and supply chain principles .
• Experience with steel products, materials and manufacturing processes will be advantageous.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent organisational, multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office .
• Good understanding of ISO, Health & Safety and Environmental compliance .
