Introduction

To provide technical and engineering expertise in the development, optimisation, and governance of foundry manufacturing processes to achieve world-class standards in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental performance. The incumbent will drive continuous improvement, process innovation, operational excellence, and capital projects while ensuring sustainable production performance, compliance with industry standards, and the achievement of the organisation's strategic objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and improve production processes to achieve, quality, cost, and output targets.

Evaluation of production processes and developing best practices to improve quality and OEE/process efficiency.

Troubleshoot of critical problems/breakdowns plant equipment and perform root cause analysis.

Managing of process input raw materials, inventory, and Bill of Materials

Setting up and reviewing of process production trends and address deviations.

Drive quality topics through effective problem solving.

Initiate and facilitate continuous improvement and cost saving projects timeously.

Introduce, review and maintenance of PPAP documentation, Control Plans, FMEA, SWI’s, JES’s.

Collaborate with colleagues to achieve internal and external targets.

Ensure compliance with TS 16949, OHS Act and ISO 14000

Adherence to company policies and procedures.

Analyse and identify projects for cost saving and equipment efficiency improvements.

Ensure projects are accurately scoped to meet safety/ production/ quality/ environment and legislative requirements.

Desired Experience & Qualification

NQF 7/ B Eng/BTech Mechanical Engineering

5 Years+ related work experience in a Manufacturing and or / Foundry environment

Knowledge and experience in Foundry Production Processes.

Project Management Experience.

Knowledge of statistical process control and analysis.

Working knowledge and experience in the use of data mining applications.

Knowledge and experience in APQP, PPAP, TS 16949 Requirements, FMEA and Process Documentation and Control

Proficient in problem solving methodology and continuous improvement.
