PRINCIPAL GIS ANALYST

TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1 122 322 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: CS 147/26 ● CIVIC CENTRE, CAPE TOWN

Requirements

• Relevant three-year tertiary qualification or higher preferably in Geomatics or GIS field

• Professional registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) is advantageous

• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in Geomatics/ GIS/Geospatial

• Valid Code B driver’s licence will be advantageous.

Key performance areas

• Manage the function of the Geospatial section

• Manage the acquisition of aerial photography, LiDAR data, oblique aerial photography and 3D building models

• Provide Geomatics services through the compilation of geospatial data and products (including 3D building models, zoning models, digital elevation models and remote sensing data)

• Direct and control the accuracy, standards and quality of geospatial data

• Manage projects relating to geospatial data

• Manage the dissemination of data according to the Spatial Data Infrastructure Act

• Apply a body of specialist knowledge, coupled with experience, to research GIS and Geospatial Innovation

• Perform activities associated with tender procurement and contract administration

• Manage contractors, contracts, control and implement contractual obligations

• Prepare deviation reports for software and systems maintenance

• Provide a consultancy service for internal and external clients

• Keep abreast of technological developments in the fields of Geomatics, GIS, and Photogrammetry
