- The Pricing Analyst – Cross Trades is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive freight quotations for cross-trade shipments across air, ocean, and multimodal transport.
- The role involves negotiating rates with carriers and overseas partners, maintaining pricing databases, and supporting the sales team with timely and profitable pricing solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Freight Forwarding.
- Understanding of incoterms - risk and billing purposes.
- Airfreight and Oceanfreight Experience.
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
- Good e-mail etiquette.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team environment, so also unsupervised.
- Ability to work across time zones and manage overseas partners

Qualifications
- Matric essential.
- Tertiary qualifications will be of advantage eg. Logistics or Supply Chain qualification.
Computer packages
- Office 365 Teams, OneNote, Forms, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Freight Managing Systems CargoWise1, SAP, Oracle etc. will be an advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to
- Prepare competitive pricing and quotations for cross-trade shipments.
- Source and negotiate freight rates with shipping lines, airlines, overseas agents, and logistics partners.
- Analyze transportation costs, market trends, and carrier performance to ensure competitive pricing.
- Maintain and update freight rate databases, tariffs, and pricing tools.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, procurement, and overseas offices to develop customized logistics solutions.
- Ensure quotations meet customer requirements, service levels, and profitability targets.
- Review carrier contracts and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor pricing validity and ensure timely renewals of rates.
- Support tender submissions and Requests for Quotation RFQs.
- Prepare pricing reports and analyze quotation success rates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, international trade regulations, and Incoterms.
- Resolve pricing discrepancies and provide support for operational issues related to quotations.
- Support QSHE with the completion of the non-conformance reports
