- Learners entering Grade 8, 9 or 10 in 2027.
- Learners must select Pure Mathematics, Physical Science and Technology as part of their subject choices.
- Demonstrated academic excellence, particularly in Mathematics, Physical Science and Technology.
- A demonstrated interest in pursuing careers in mining or related industries.
- Preference will be given to learners from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Learners must reside in Barberton/Emjindini or surrounding areas.
- Learners must be a fulltime learner from any school within the Umjindi Circuit – Department of Education
Requirements
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be entering Grade 8, 9 &10 in 2027 academic year
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 85% or above in the 2026 academic year
- You must have a household income of less than R300 000 per annum
- You must be keen to attend school at Hoerskool Barberton
- Certified copy of an Identity Document or birth certificate
- Final Grade 5 & 6 academic results
- Final (2026) academic results, with certificates of achievements issued by your school
- Complete application form with certified (less than 3 months) documents as prescribed in the application form
