- Our client is looking for a Power BI Developer / Business Intelligence Analyst to join their Business Intelligence department.
- The successful candidate will develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, analyse data and translate business requirements into practical reporting solutions that support informed decision-making.
Minimum requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in: Informatics; Data Analysis; Statistics; Business Intelligence; or a related field.
- Alternatively, equivalent practical experience in Power BI and data visualisation.
- Minimum 1 year's practical experience in Power BI development.
- Ability to develop Power BI dashboards end-to-end, from data preparation through to final reporting.
- Practical experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Experience in dashboard design and data visualisation.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of DAX.
- Knowledge of data modelling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Self-motivated, reliable and detail oriented.
Advantageous
- Experience with KPI and management reporting.
- Strong Excel data analysis skills.
- Good understanding of business processes and reporting structures.
- SQL scripting experience.
- Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Translate business requirements into visual and functional reporting solutions.
- Analyse data and provide meaningful business insights.
- Improve existing dashboards and reporting systems.
- Support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
- Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Ensure dashboards and reports are accurate, relevant and user-friendly.
- Assist with business intelligence and data analysis requirements.
The following will form part of the interview and assessment process
- Development of a practical Power BI report/dashboard.
- Excel-based analytical tests and exercises.
- Practical problem-solving tasks to assess skills and thought processes
