Introduction

We are looking for a detail orientated and dependable Portfolio Manager to join our team in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys working in a structured environment, takes pride in accuracy and wants to contribute to a growing and established organisation. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the  of the business through ensuring profitability withing the portfolio.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts
  • Able and willing to learn company systems and or software relevant to the position
  • Able to reconcile and prepare account statements for payments.
  • Responsible for receiving and auditing of council accounts within the portfolio
  • Attend monthly management meetings with clients
  • Prepare monthly reports for clients
  • Ensure strict credit control actions including age analysis, reconciliations and communication with clients.
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve issues as needed
  • The above-mentioned requirements should all be performed within very strict deadlines and therefore the successful candidate must be able to work under pressure.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties required by the company.

Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics
  • Financial qualification would be beneficial
  • A minimum of 3 year's experience in utilities portfolio management and people management
  • Excellent knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Fully bilingual
  • Sage X3 experience will be an advantage
  • Must be computer literate with strong MS Excel skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent client service and negotiation skills
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Fully computer literate on:
  • MS Excel
  • MS Word
  • Sage X3
