Minim um requirements: Bachelor’s degree in political science, legal, administration or local governance Experience in a similar role, including political assistant, personal assistant, executive assistant or secretary Experience in compiling reports, minute taking, drafting letters Proficiency in at least one official language, in addition to English Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint Skills : Written and verbal communication Administration and attention to detail Time management Multitasking Problem solving Abilities: Analyse and interpret political developments Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations Be outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated Work independently Apply sound judgement Knowledge and Commitment: Understanding of political communication Understanding of the Party’s policies Understanding of current affairs and the national political landscape Understand the legislature and its various mechanisms Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
