Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate hand-held and mechanical polishing equipment.
- Polish and finish metal surfaces to achieve the required finish.
- Remove scratches, marks, burrs and other imperfections from metal surfaces.
- Grind, sand and prepare metal components before polishing.
- Select and use the correct polishing wheels, abrasives and compounds.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
- Identify and report defects or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain and clean polishing equipment and tools.
- Keep the work area clean, safe and organised.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
- Work according to production targets, work instructions and quality requirements
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 10/12 or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Metal Polisher, Finisher or in a similar position.
- Experience working with metal products will be an advantage.
- Ability to operate hand-held power tools and polishing equipment.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and meet production targets.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a manufacturing/workshop environment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or fabrication environment will be an advantage.
