Skills automotive customer liaison engineering plant engineer Detail: Key Responsibilities Ensure maximum plant and equipment availability. Plan and manage preventative and corrective maintenance. Lead engineering and continuous improvement projects. Support production to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets. Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards. Liaise with customers regarding engineering and technical matters. Build and maintain strong customer relationships. Manage engineering contractors and service providers. Prepare engineering reports and monitor maintenance costs. Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams. Competencies Strong customer focus. Leadership and team management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and decision-making ability. Planning and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Minimum Requirements Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering. Minimum 5 years' engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. Automotive industry experience is advantageous. Experience in plant maintenance, engineering projects and continuous improvement. Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance. Sound understanding of IATF 16949, ISO standards and the OHS Act. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and customer liaison skills.
