Start free — we apply for you →- Are you an experienced Project Planner with a strong background in mining and industrial construction projects? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering and construction environment, working on complex projects across the mining, industrial, infrastructure and energy sectors.
- We are looking for a highly organised Planner with expertise in SMPP Structural, Mechanical, Piping & Platework and Electrical & Instrumentation E&I planning to play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Prepare baseline programmes, look-ahead schedules and recovery plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify schedule risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction and project management teams.
- Monitor critical paths, project float and resource utilisation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms and schedule performance reports.
- Assist with resource planning, forecasting and productivity monitoring.
- Participate in project planning meetings and provide scheduling support.
- Ensure planning activities comply with contractual requirements and company procedures.
- Promote compliance with SHEQ standards across all project activities.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related technical discipline.
- 5–8 years' planning experience on mining, mineral processing, industrial or EPC/EPCM construction projects.
- Proven experience planning SMPP and Electrical & Instrumentation construction activities.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 essential.
- Strong knowledge of Critical Path Methodology CPM, resource loading, forecasting and project scheduling.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience preparing project reports, schedule analysis and forecasting.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel and work on remote project sites when required.
