- Review and update pharmaceutical and clinical policies, processes, Standard Operating Procedures SOPs and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Lead the procurement of health and non-health products, including procurement planning, supplier management, contract development and the preparation of procurement documentation.
- Strengthen and implement the Procurement and Supply Management PSM Plan to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical legislation, donor requirements and organisational standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including forecasting, stock monitoring, reconciliation, warehousing, storage and distribution of health commodities at Principal Recipient PR and Sub-Recipient SR level.
- Responsible for GPP at all levels ensuring Sub-Recipients are compliant and accurately report their monthly stock levels
- Manage electronic stock visibility systems and reporting, ensuring the accuracy and reconciliation of manual and electronic stock records.
- Support quality assurance activities and maintain audit readiness for the Global Fund, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
- Review and update the Health Product List, pharmaceutical training materials and other technical resources to meet programme needs.
- Provide pharmaceutical oversight and technical support to sub-recipients, including guidance on PrEP implementation, dispensing licences, regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement.
- Conduct pharmaceutical compliance assessments and provide mentoring, technical assistance and capacity building to NACOSA staff and implementing partners.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen pharmaceutical systems and ensure the continuous availability of quality-assured health commodities.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist with a successful track record that meet the following criteria.
- Bachelor of Pharmacy BPharm Current Registration with the Pharmacy Council.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar NGO, clinical programmes, or clinical health care setting
- A thorough working understanding HIV/AIDS/TB/STI
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience acting as a specialist as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience in Capacity Building and Training related to pharmaceutical matters.
- Provide technical guidance to implementers and programme/clinical staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in one or more South African languages besides English a distinct advantage.
- Understanding of the NGO sector and knowledge of big donor processes/requirements will be a benefit.
- South African national or permanent residence is preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel regularly in South Africa travel costs to be covered
