  • Manage an established Rx pharmaceutical territory with a strong basic salary, benefits and commission.
  • Build trusted relationships directly with doctors, primarily GPs, while increasing product awareness, prescribing support and territory performance.

Available Territories

  • Western Cape Central: Cape Town CBD, Milnerton, Panorama, Cape Flats and Blouberg, with West Coast travel to Langebaan and Vredendal.
  • Western Cape South: Southern Suburbs and Helderberg, with travel to Hermanus and Plettenberg Bay.
  • Western Cape North: Northern Suburbs, Winelands and Boland, extending to Robertson, Worcester, Montagu and Ceres.

Minimum Requirements

  • A completed BSc or related health-science degree focused on human biology, anatomy or physiology.
  • Two or more years' pharmaceutical sales.
  • Previous experience must include direct Rx pharmaceutical product detailing to doctors, primarily general practitioners.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and detail Rx pharmaceutical products directly to doctors, primarily general practitioners.
  • Communicate product indications, clinical benefits, supporting information and appropriate usage clearly and accurately.
  • Conduct professional one-on-one product-detailing engagements and presentations.
  • Build and maintain credible long-term relationships with doctors.
  • Develop and manage a structured doctor call cycle.
  • Plan and conduct regular visits to medical practices within the allocated territory.
  • Schedule appointments and maximise productive doctor-facing time.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the assigned Rx pharmaceutical portfolio.
  • Remain informed about relevant medical, clinical and scientific developments.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product awareness, prescribing support and territory growth.
  • Achieve agreed pharmaceutical sales targets and performance objectives.
  • Analyse territory performance and adjust activity where required.
  • Monitor competitor products, prescribing trends and feedback from doctors.
  • Provide accurate market intelligence and customer feedback to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of doctor visits, discussions and follow-up actions.
  • Complete required CRM, call reporting and territory administration.
  • Participate in product training, sales meetings and territory reviews.
  • Undertake longer day trips and country trips where required.
  • Represent the pharmaceutical portfolio professionally and ethically.
