Overview: Our client, a well-established global asset manager, is seeking a Performance Analyst to join their team. The investment performance and analytics team are responsible for investment performance calculation, reporting and analysis to, amongst others, portfolio managers and front office staff, client facing teams and senior and executive managers. The team is also responsible for timely submission of investment performance data to industry surveys, performance fee calculations and management of GIPS compliance.  The investment performance and analytics team mainly service the front office and middle office functions of the Company and ultimately reports into the Head of Client Solution Strategy.

Responsibilities: ·        An understanding of the asset management business. ·        Understanding and ability to perform performance measurement, attribution (equity attribution, multi-asset class attribution and fixed income attribution) and other related analytics. ·        Ability to explain performance related calculation methodologies or results to internal or external clients. ·        Ability to create new performance reports and analysis. ·        Understanding of different investment performance-based fee calculation methodologies and ability to implement it, including quantitative modelling of different performance fee methodologies ·        Ability to correctly interpret client mandates with respect to performance benchmarks and performance fee calculations ·        Understanding of GIPS standards and regularly keeping up to date with changes to the standards ·        Ability to adhere to controls and checks to ensure good business governance ·        Complete survey submission templates for consultants ·        Willingness to document processes and review these documents regularly ·        Experience with using performance and risk software platforms, such as Statpro Revolution ·        Experience with the implementation of Performance Attribution systems (e.g. Statpro Revolution or other performance systems) is an advantage ·        Experience with Morningstar is an advantage ·        Strong communication skills and a proven ability to engage various people within a large organization ·        Basic knowledge of both fund and investment accounting ·        Client centric approach to work ·        Ability to present predefined reports to certain teams in the front office

Requirements: ·        An appropriate tertiary education in Finance, Statistic, Mathematics or similar ·        CFA Charterholder, CFA Candidate or CIPM (advantageous) ·        3 to 5 years’ experience as a Performance Analyst (advantageous) Competencies and Personal Attributes: ·        Highly organised and able to deliver against tight deadlines ·        Resilient and able to cope with pressure ·        Take initiative in improving processes and systems ·        Ability to work independently and across functions and teams to deliver complex tasks ·        Ability to engage with stakeholders in the business and attend to ad hoc requests from the business or external clients ·        Take ownership and accountability for work ·        Open to receiving constructive feedback ·        Willingness to self-study and research performance topics one may be unfamiliar with
