Role Purpose

  • The People & Culture Consultant provides professional HR advisory and operational support across the employee lifecycle driving an exceptional employee experience. The role partners with managers and employees to implement people practices that support organisational objectives, enhance employee experience, strengthen organisational culture, and ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures and people-related matters.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, selection, onboarding and employee integration.
  • Manage and advise on employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes, performance concerns and workplace conflict.
  • Support performance management, talent management, succession planning and employee development initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to identify organisational and people challenges and recommend practical HR solutions.
  • Drive employee engagement, culture and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Assist with learning and development needs analysis and implementation of development programmes.
  • Monitor HR trends and workforce data and provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with relevant labour legislation, internal policies and governance requirements.
  • Support employment equity, diversity, inclusion and transformation initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and contribute to HR reporting and audits.
  • Review and contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and frameworks.
  • Build trusted relationships with employees, managers and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development or a related field.
  • Approximately 3–5 years' relevant HR generalist/consulting experience.
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Sound experience in employee relations, performance management, recruitment and organisational development.
  • Experience working with HR systems and workforce reporting would be advantageous.
