Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure coordination between payroll and human resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Enforce policies and procedures relevant to payroll administration.
  • Processing of employee take-ons, adjustments, promotions and terminations.
  • Processing and balancing of all time & attendance related items.
  • Processing all additional variable payroll input received e.g.: travel claims, expense claims.
  • Processing of all employee master data changes.
  • Balancing third-party billing schedules with payroll deductions.
  • Ensure all payroll inputs are captured and checked timeously.
  • Attend to all payroll related queries raised internally and externally.
  • Ability to recalculate the following items as part of a continuous system audit: earnings, deductions (including statutory deductions), company contributions and provisions
  • Compile detailed monthly payroll variance reports.
  • Ensure variance reports are reviewed and approved according to payroll deadlines
  • Prepare monthly post-payroll reports
  • Prepare ad-hod payroll reports
  • Ensure up to date filing of all payroll-related documentation.
  • Prepare reports and assist in resolving queries for internal and external audits.
  • Balancing third-party billing schedules with payroll deductions.
  • Critically review and improve existing payroll processes.
  • Assist with ad-hoc payroll projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications & Experience

  • National Senior Certificate is essential.
  • NQF Level 7 3-year degree/Advanced diploma in Finance/Payroll is recommended.
  • 5 years’ experience in Payroll Administration is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of Time & Attendance is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of Personal Tax is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment is essential.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Intermediate SAP Knowledge.
  • Advanced Xtime knowledge.
  • Advanced SAGE 300 People knowledge.
