About the role

  • To ensure the accurate and timely processing of payments to suppliers and service providers, maintaining compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
  • The Payments Controller plays a key role in managing cash flow, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial operations.

What you will bring

  • Senior Certificate with Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • National Diploma in Accounting or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Payments Control.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of municipal/government supply regulations if applicable.

Skills & Competencies

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • Integrity and commitment to ethical standards.

What you will be doing

Payment Processing

  • Prepare and process payment proposals and files.
  • Ensure payments are made on time and in accordance with company policies.
  • Handle payments in both local and foreign currencies.

Account Reconciliation

  • Maintain accurate records of payments and transactions.
  • Clear general ledgers as applicable.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
  • Maintain documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

Ad Hoc Duties

  • Assist with other finance-related tasks as required by management
