A large insurance organisation based in Johannesburg is seeking a detailed-orientated individual to join the tax compliance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation in payroll tax and a passion for ensuring accuracy and compliance in a dynamic environment. This position offers a hybrid working model (3 days in the office per week).
Duties & Responsibilities
Review bi‑annual PAYE reconciliations prior to submission to SARS.
Support compliance with third‑party appointment processes (AA88 and IT88).
Review tax directives and Recognition of Transfer (ROT) applications.
Provide training and guidance to business units and team members.
Reconcile and correct SARS PAYE accounts to ensure accuracy.
Manage SARS queries, tax clearance certificate requests, and resubmissions of prior‑year returns.
Liaise with SARS Large Business International to resolve outstanding matters.
Develop and maintain internal training material and manuals.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bcom Accounting
- Post graduate tax qualification preferred
- 3-6 years PAYE and payroll tax compliance
