ABOUT THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
We are a small, growing Hindu faith-based ecommerce business. Our products and daily work centre around Hindu deities and devotional traditions.
Applicants of all religions, or no religion, are welcome. You do not need to share our faith, but genuine respect for Hinduism and all other faiths is essential. You must be comfortable handling Hindu devotional products with care. If this would conflict with your personal beliefs, this role will not be the right fit for you.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a reliable, careful and organised person to prepare products and packaging and assist with packing customer orders.
Responsibilities include
- Preparing and pre-packing products
- Cutting and folding inserts, placing inserts and cloths into sleeves, applying stickers and assembling boxes
- Assisting with packing customer orders
- Counting and recording stock at the end of every shift
- Setting up and packing away the workstation
- Keeping products, packaging and the working area clean and organised
Duties may occasionally evolve as the needs of the business change.
YOU MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Take pride in neat, accurate and detailed work
- Are reliable, punctual, honest and trustworthy
- Handle products carefully
- Are comfortable with repetitive, hands-on work
- Can count and record stock accurately
- Can follow established processes and work independently
- Can remain focused and work efficiently
- Can travel reliably to Umhlanga every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Will treat Hindu devotional products with genuine respect
Familiarity with Hindu deities would be helpful when learning the product range, but it is not required. Full training will be provided.
This is an on-site position within a shared workspace. The appointment will begin with a four-week probationary period. Reference checks will be conducted, and shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a paid practical assessment.
