- Grade 10 or NQF equivalent.
- Valid Code C1 10 Driver's Licence with a valid PrDP.
- Valid competency/authorisation to operate tractors and related agricultural or municipal machinery.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1–2 years' relevant experience in operating tractors or similar heavy machinery.

KNOWLEDGE
- Sound knowledge of tractor operations and safe handling procedures.
- Knowledge of basic tractor maintenance, servicing and daily pre-start inspections.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 Act No. 85 of 1993.
- Knowledge of safe working practices when operating heavy machinery and equipment.
- Understanding of municipal operational procedures and machinery safety requirements.
- Knowledge of road safety rules and regulations applicable to the operation of vehicles and machinery.
DUTIES
- Inspecting safety devices, controls, lubricant levels, etc. on tractor vehicles and reporting defects.
- Grass cutting with tractor slasher.
- Spreading fertilizer with tractor fertilizer spreader.
- Observing and/or participating with personnel in the loading/ offloading sequences of items and tools, refuse bags, spades, brooms, brush cutters.
- Driving to waste disposal/ landfill sites, monitoring the offloading of waste from the vehicle, informing personnel of specific guidelines with respect to waste/litter separation where necessary.
