JUNIOR BUYER: CONSTRUCTION, Northern Suburbs, Cape Town, Up to R20,000 per monthOur client, a well-established and growing Cape Town construction company, is looking for a suitably experienced Junior Buyer to join their team.The company operates across the residential, commercial, retail and industrial construction sectors and requires a hands-on individual who can assist with the procurement of building materials, equipment and services for multiple construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesObtain and compare quotations from suppliers.Assist with sourcing construction materials, equipment and other project requirements.Prepare and process purchase orders.Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery dates.Follow up on outstanding orders and deliveries.Assist in negotiating competitive pricing and favourable supplier terms.Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.Work closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and the commercial/administrative team.Help ensure materials are available when required to avoid delays on site.Resolve basic supplier, pricing and delivery queries.RequirementsPrevious 2 years experience in a buying, procurement or purchasing role.Experience within the construction/building industry will be a strong advantage.Knowledge of building materials and construction suppliers would be beneficial.Good numerical and administrative ability.Computer literate, particularly MS Excel and Outlook.Strong organisational and communication skills.Ability to work accurately in a busy, deadline-driven environment.Good attention to detail.A proactive approach and willingness to learn.Own vehicle and drivers license https://www.jobplacements.com/Jobs/J/JUNIOR-BUYER-CONSTRUCTION-Northern-Suburbs-Cape-To-1318574-Job-Search-8-14-2026-10-27-20-AM.asp?sid=gumtree
