- Perform final Preparation of Aircraft and parts for paint strip or painting this includes the use of hand tools and pneumatic machinery Orbital sanders
Principal Accountabilities Perform preparation of aircraft and parts
- Sanding / Masking
- Acknowledge receipt and monitor movement of work in progress
- Complete and sign all relevant documentation
- Assist with general hangar and workshop house keeping:
- Cleaning of work area/equipmentEquipment, spares and material movement
- Assist technicians with general preparation
- Washing and cleaning of aircraft parts
- Sanding aircraft parts
- Clean the work area and all general workshop housekeeping
- Assit with sealant activities, e.g removal, cleaning of lap joints, apllication and removal of masking tape
- Complete and sign all relevant documentation Labour Reporting
- Assist with the controlling and movement of spares, equipment and materials
- Removing tap eetc after any job completion
- Perform any other duties alocated by paint technician, SLT, Production Leader or Senior Manager
- Must be prepared to work at various heights be prepared to work with a variety of chemicals, thinners and other solvents
- No parts are to be placed on floor without protective materila
- Applicant must be able to mask certain areas of aircraft and aircraft parts prior to painting
- All work to be carried out as per lay down procedure
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- PC Literate
Knowledge and Skills
- Have knowledge of the SAA Technical Organisation
- Have inter-personal skills
- Have knowledge of hazardous material/chemicals
- Communication skills verbal and written
