Operations Supervisor - Logistics

Introduction

A leading logistics company based in Centurion is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Operations Supervisor to take charge of daily fleet operations, driver management, freight loading, and administrative workflow.

​The ideal candidate must thrive in a high-tempo transport environment, possess strong route-monitoring abilities, and be comfortable managing both office-based administration and floor-level logistics.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assign collection and delivery routes; actively track drivers via tracking systems to prevent off-route delays and downtime; assign late-night 3rd-party lodging fairly across the team.

• ​Inspect fleet for damage/leaks during refueling; coordinate vehicle washing and maintenance runs; conduct physical inventory counts of loading gear (belts, ratchets, boards, corner plates).

• ​Capture waybills, create manifests, and compile daily trip-sheets; assist on the floor with loading, strapping, and forklift operation when necessary to hit dispatch targets.

• ​Manage daily loading schedules and update forklift operators by 14:30; coordinate grid availability lists by 12:00 for vehicle allocation decisions; communicate delays directly to Cape Town operations.

• Maintain accurate accounts/cash-on-delivery (COD) records before releasing shipments; lead Tuesday morning driver and warehouse toolbox meetings; maintain active operational updates on management communication groups.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Proven supervisory or operational experience within the logistics/transport/courier sector.

• Must reside in or very close to Centurion (essential).

• ​High proficiency in MS Excel & MS Word. Knowledge of Parcel Perfect is highly advantageous.

• ​Willing and able to work long operational hours (frequently after 17:00).

• Strong communication skills, quick decision-making under pressure, and active fleet-tracking capabilities.
