  • Bidvest Tank Terminals has a vacancy for an Operations Planning Co-ordinator. This opportunity exists within the Logistics Department, based in Durban, reporting to the Logistics Planning Supervisor. The candidate must meet the following minimum criteria.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Logistics/ Supply Chain/ Operations degree would be advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years Logistics/ Planning/ Customer Services experience
  • SAP Oil-In-One experience
  • Experience in the Chemical/ Petro-chemical industry would be advantageous
  • Experience in Bulk Liquid Storage Facility/ Terminal Operations would be advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Track and record progress against operations plan
  • Ensure that all variances from plan are flagged to the relevant Managers and Shift Supervisors
  • Ensure any afterhours amendments to orders, customer request and planned eta's are timeously updated on the system and communicated to the sites
  • Follow up on orders not action according to planned dates and update the system accordingly
  • Monitor vehicle status on sites, follow up on excessive vehicle standing times and escalate delays to the relevant Managers and Shift Supervisors
  • Follow up on the delivery and collection of customer drums from the various sites
  • Follow up on the arrival and clearing of rail cars
  • Co-ordinate and record vehicle over/under loads
  • Pre-advise Sasol export containers onto Navis
  • Complete Sasol Dangerous Goods Declaration DGD document for export isotainer & flexi-tainer
  • Liaise closely with the sites to ensure that all planned activities shipping, road, rail, transfers, drumming are efficient and effectively executed
  • Liaise with customers afterhours; keeping them informed of delays or constraints on site that will impact on timeous execution of their orders
  • Track and monitor progress on all orders and provide feedback to the clients and management as and when required
  • Liaise with internal departments on site activity and planning related matters
  • Attend to permit requests
  • Review site activity performance plan vs actual & turnaround times daily, weekly and monthly and report thereon
  • Submit daily reports per shift to the Planning and Operations Management team on progress against customer orders
  • Ensure all customer complaints or other incidents are timeously escalated to the relevant managers
  • Comply with all planning and other business procedures, standards and work instructions
  • General administrative duties within the planning department
  • Ensure that there is an effective shift handover
