Job Description

  • An established renewable energy company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end service delivery, from installation through to aftercare.
  • The role will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
  • The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, improve processes, manage budgets, ensure compliance and lead teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall operations budget and protect profit margins.
  • Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities to reduce operational and fuel costs.
  • Approve purchases within delegated limits and company policies.
  • Ensure sites and vehicles comply with OHS and legal safety requirements.
  • Lead safety training and enforce safety protocols.
  • Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Apply Lean or Six Sigma principles to improve operational efficiency.
  • Improve route planning and fleet utilisation.
  • Set and monitor quarterly operational objectives.
  • Oversee maintenance contractors and facilities.
  • Coordinate equipment, vehicles and staff across departments.
  • Lead, mentor and manage direct reports.
  • Assist with recruitment, performance reviews and team development.
  • Ensure effective communication between installation, aftercare and support teams.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Finance.
  • Resolve operational issues across departments and remove roadblocks.
  • Drive continuous improvement, quality and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Post-Matric qualification in a relevant field preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience in Operations Management.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification advantageous, or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
  • Strong financial and budget management experience.
  • Solid understanding of OHS requirements.
  • Experience with process improvement, route planning and operational efficiency.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
