Our client, a well-established Western Cape hardware retail group, needs an Operations Manager for its new branch. You will own the systems and processes behind the shop floor: stock, receiving, yard, dispatch and deliveries.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Manage the stock control, receiving, dispatch and yard functions
- Control stock accuracy, shrinkage and stock-take outcomes
- Plan deliveries and manage vehicle scheduling
- Ensure health and safety compliance, including forklift operation and yard safety
- Improve branch processes and cut operational costs
- Lead the stock control, receiving and dispatch teams
- Report to the Branch Manager on operational performance
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements
- Matric (essential); a logistics, supply chain or operations qualification is an advantage
- At least 5 years' operations or warehouse management experience in hardware, building materials or wholesale distribution
- Strong stock control and inventory management experience
- Working knowledge of OHS requirements
- Computer literate (MS Office and ERP/stock systems)
- Valid driver's licence and own transport
