Introduction

Are you an analytical finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Operations Finance Administrator to join their dynamic finance team.

In this role, you will be at the heart of commercial operations, safeguarding the completeness and accuracy of revenue across multiple physical and digital sales channels in both South Africa and the UK. Working closely with Financial Accountants and store operations, you will tackle daily sales integrations, untangle transaction exceptions, and partner with leading third-party delivery platforms and payment providers. This position offers an exceptional platform to refine your financial control expertise, work with large datasets, and directly contribute to process automation and business insights.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Revenue & Sales Integration: Import, review, and post daily and weekly sales data across international store portfolios, quickly troubleshooting and resolving any integration errors.
  • Tender & Merchant Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations between point-of-sale (POS) systems, cashbook records, bank accounts, and payment settlements (including card, digital orders, and third-party delivery aggregators).
  • Exception Investigation: Investigate and resolve variances, settlement discrepancies, chargebacks, customer refunds, and commission fees, escalating aged items proactively with clear supporting evidence.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Maintain accurate trade and non-trade debtor accounts, ensuring correct transaction matching, timely statement distribution, and clean ledger ageing.
  • Period-End Support: Assist with month-end and year-end closes by completing assigned general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations to strict deadlines.
  • Process Optimisation: Identify recurring reconciliation exceptions and collaborate with Store Operations, IT, and external payment partners to streamline controls and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Audit & Reporting: Prepare clean, auditable supporting schedules for internal reviews, external audits, and operational commercial trackers.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Must-Haves

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in operational finance, cashbook management, bank reconciliations, or revenue administration.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (proficient in VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and manipulating large-volume datasets).
  • Sound foundational knowledge of accounts receivable, general ledger balancing, and period-end close routines.
  • Sharp attention to detail with the disciplined work ethic needed to meet strict daily and monthly closing deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior working experience within Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), retail multi-site chains, or FMCG environments.
  • Hands-on exposure to sales file imports, point-of-sale (POS) back-office systems, and mainstream delivery aggregator portals.
  • Experience handling foreign-entity reconciliations or multi-currency transactions (e.g., UK operations).
