Key Responsibilities
Execution and delivery leadership
Translate strategic and operational priorities into concrete, sequenced action plans with clear owners and timelines.
Drive delivery of these plans end to end, tracking progress, resolving blockers and adjusting course as circumstances change.
Take ownership of cross-functional initiatives that cut across divisions or departments, where no single existing team has full accountability for delivery.
Bring structure and discipline to how the business plans, tracks and reports on execution, without adding unnecessary process.
Team mobilisation and decision-making
Mobilise teams quickly around a plan and keep them focused and accountable through to delivery.
Make timely, practical decisions in ambiguous or fast-moving situations, rather than waiting for perfect information.
Work closely with divisional and functional leads to align people and resources behind agreed priorities.
Operational delivery across the business
Support and drive delivery across the business''s operating divisions, stepping in wherever execution needs to be strengthened.
Partner with the COO on operational planning, resource allocation and performance against delivery milestones.
Contribute to broader operational and strategic planning as a senior member of the leadership team.
Experience and Qualifications
A minimum of 812 years'' operational leadership experience, including experience in senior management or executive-level roles.
A demonstrated, verifiable track record of taking plans and strategy and driving them to real-world execution and results, ideally in a complex or fast-moving operating environment.
Experience mobilising and leading teams, including teams outside a direct reporting line, to deliver against a plan.
Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership in ambiguous situations, without needing every variable resolved first.
Public sector experience is advantageous but not required.
Relevant tertiary qualification in business, engineering, operations or a related field.

Decisive, with sound judgement under pressure and incomplete information.
Hands-on leadership style, able to mobilise and drive teams directly rather than only through formal authority.

Strong problem-solving ability, able to identify practical solutions to operational obstacles as they arise.
Clear, direct communicator, able to align people quickly around a plan.
