Start free — we apply for you →Exercise professional judgement and relative autonomy in providing pharmacy services in accordance with SAPC guidelines and in particular Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Direct the receipt, preparation and dispensing of prescriptions Ensure timely delivery of medication to patients and accurate record keeping Responsible for communicating with all relevant stakeholders regarding stock shortages Liaise with Izipharm Pharmaceutical Distributers, all authorised suppliers and Pharmacy Management in all matters relating to the procurement of cytotoxic medicine Participate in the oncology call roster, weekend and public holiday work as required Where appropriate and upon request provide drug information and counselling to nursing and medical staff Regularly review drug charts and monitor drug therapies with subsequent liaison with medical and nursing staff to optimise drug therapy outcomes Report all adverse drug reactions to relevant stakeholders including Pharmacy Management Is responsible for providing patients with adequate written instruction on medication usage, and where appropriate, the preparation of dose administration aids for use by patients Be proficient in all oncology areas and be familiar with all Melopharm / Melomed policies Acts as an internal oncology resource for Melomed Private Hospitals Must be extremely proficient in aseptic technique in order to oversee and maintain GMP Responsible for the maintenance of adequate materials, equipment and environment in the oncology department in accordance with GMP and Good Pharmacy Practices (GPP). Contribute to ongoing review and development of oncology department policy and procedures where applicable Comply with accreditation requirements Ensure in a matter of self-interest, and as a legal obligation, to have a responsibility to ensure that nothing is done to make health and safety provisions less effective Take reasonable care to protect his/her own health and safety at work Ensure that he/she doesn’t endanger any other person through any act or omission at work Ensure that correct use is made of all equipment provided for health and safety purposes Obey all instructions issued to protect his/her own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others Ensure that he/she doesn’t by the consumption of alcohol or a drug endanger their own safety at work or the safety of any other person at work Report all accidents to Pharmacy and Nursing Management Make recommendations to Pharmacy and Nursing Management as deemed necessary to avoid, eliminate or minimise any hazards of which he/she is aware regarding working conditions or methods
