We are looking for an experienced and motivated On-Route Driver Trainer to train, coach, and assess Code 14 truck drivers on active delivery routes. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving driver performance, ensuring compliance with road safety regulations and company standards, promoting fuel-efficient driving practices, and maintaining high levels of customer service throughout daily operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
1. Conduct on-route training sessions with Code 14 drivers.
2. Assess driver performance, including driving skills, safety practices, route efficiency, and fuel consumption.
3. Provide hands-on coaching to improve driving techniques, reduce risks, and optimise fuel usage.
4. Monitor fuel consumption and implement corrective training to improve efficiency.
5. Train drivers on fuel-saving techniques such as smooth acceleration, gear management, and route planning.
6. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards.
7. Complete driver evaluations and provide detailed feedback reports.
8. Identify training needs and recommend development plans.
9. Investigate driving incidents and provide corrective training where required.
10. Assist with onboarding and training of new drivers.
11. Proven experience and strong knowledge of Scania, Volvo, and MAN trucks, as well as refrigerated transport.
12. Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and professionalism within the fleet.
COACHING
13. Coaching and mentoring of drivers.
14. Communicate with drivers and daily basis and attend to any queries.
15. Drive Reinke brand values through all training and development activities.
Working Conditions
- Extensive travel and time spent on the road.
- Irregular working hours, including early mornings or late evenings when required.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum requirements
- Valid Code 14 driver’s licence with PDP.
- Registered as an Assessor by an ETDP SETA is required.
- Proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a similar training or senior driver role.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and transport legislation.
- Proven understanding of fuel-efficient driving practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and evaluate staff effectively.
