O&M Business Development Engineer

Introduction

We are looking for an experienced O&M Business Development Engineer to join the team in Sandton. This is a senior-level position suited to a mature, experienced professional with a strong engineering background and proven business development capabilities. The ideal candidate will have an Electrical Engineering background and the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities within the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) sector.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the O&M market.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

• Develop and manage a strong business development pipeline.

• Identify client needs and provide appropriate technical and commercial solutions.

• Prepare and present proposals, quotations and business development strategies.

• Conduct client meetings and presentations.

• Support tendering and proposal processes.

• Work closely with technical and engineering teams to develop solutions.

• Negotiate commercial terms and assist with closing new business.

• Monitor market trends and identify potential growth opportunities.

• Maintain accurate records of business development activities and opportunities.

• Represent the company professionally at client meetings and industry events.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Engineering is essential.

• Electrical Engineering degree preferred.

• Degree must be from a recognised/accredited university such as UP, Stellenbosch, NWU or equivalent.

• No Technikon, diploma or equivalent qualifications will be considered.

• Senior-level professional with extensive industry experience.

• Proven experience in business development, sales or client relationship management .

• Strong commercial and technical understanding.

• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

• Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle would be advantageous.
