Requirements

  • Grade 12. A 3 years Tertiary Qualification, A Bachelor's Degree NQF Level 7/ Diploma NQF Level 6 in one of the following fields: Sport Management, Sport Science, Recreation Management, Youth Development, Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Development Studies, bachelor of Education BEd, Further education and Training FET and/or Intermediate phase with demonstrated knowledge and experience in youth development, sports development, school sport or community development. Two 02 to three 03 years relevant experience in the field of Youth Development. Valid Code B Drivers' License. Computer Literacy.

Requirements/Duties

  • Co ordinates tasks/activities associated with the implementation of procedures by:
  • Developing sound Municipal youth unit's communication/outreach strategy and plan for executing the municipality's programs and services.
  • Facilitation of networks and creating partnerships with various youth organisations and local/government structures: CBO's, NGO's and faith based organisations and facilitate and соordinate partnership projects linked to the municipality.
  • Initiating youth development projects and ensuring sustainability through continued support and mentorship mechanisms.
  • Creatind Awareness and promoting National Youth development Agency, Youth Fund products and services Government funded projects.
  • Organise and conduct capacity building programs for youth development organisation in various wards within the municipal area.
  • Participating in operational discussions/meetings and elaborating/presenting information to support the status of activities, progress/constraints/quality and cost dimensions associated with current programs.
  • Design and implement sport, art and culture programs, organise and stage sport tournaments and art and culture competitions working with organised structures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and involve youth, elderly and disabled people in sport, art and culture programs..
