• Coordinate vehicle receiving from port to stockyard, ensuring accurate inspections, VIN verification, and reporting of any damage or discrepancies. • Liaise with transport providers, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of imported vehicles. • Manage stockyard operations, including vehicle storage, preservation, security, movement, and traceability. • Maintain accurate stock records, yard mapping, and vehicle location systems. • Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, and technical preparation to minimise delivery delays. • Monitor battery performance and preservation activities to ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition. • Plan and oversee vehicle fitments, accessory installations, technical modifications, rust treatment, and other value-added services. • Review and approve damage reports and claims while ensuring accurate documentation. • Provide technical support and resolve operational issues relating to vehicle preparation and fitments. • Lead, supervise, and motivate operational and technical teams to achieve productivity, quality, and safety targets. • Ensure compliance with company procedures, OEM standards, health and safety regulations, and operational best practices. • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and operational performance reports. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stockyard efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve overall service delivery. • Manage stock control processes and conduct reconciliations to maintain inventory accuracy. Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Minimum 35 years' experience within automotive logistics, vehicle stockyard, or yard operations.
- Previous experience supervising operational or technical teams.
- Technical automotive qualification or experience in mechanical or electrical vehicle systems will be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of vehicle logistics, storage operations, and stockyard management.
- Knowledge of vehicle accessory installations, wiring, fitments, and vehicle handling.
- Ability to identify technical faults, damage, and incorrect installations.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- High level of computer literacy and experience using stock management or logistics systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Valid driver's licence is essential.
- Willingness to work in an outdoor operational environment.
- Flexible to work extended hours, weekends, or shifts when required.
- Physically fit and able to perform the operational requirements of the role
