Key Performance Areas
- Implement & monitor all safety processes.
- Participate in the internal risk assessment process.
- Conduct OHS inspections.
- Investigate accidents and incidents.
- Conduct internal audits according to organizational procedures & legislation.
- Maintain SHE RISK system.
- Emergency Preparedness and Response.
- Effective Contractor safety management.
- Coordinate and participate in SHE-related meetings and safety campaigns.
- Gather input/data for SHE reports & statistics.
Prerequisites
- NQF Level 6 qualification in Safety Management/Environmental Health Management as recognised by SAQA.
- Qualification in Safety Management/Environmental Health Management or related qualifications will be an added advantage.
- A training Course in Safety Management Training Course SAMTRAC and Environmental Health Awareness will be an added advantage.
- Registration with a professional body, the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health SAIOSH.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety and related field.
- Valid driver's license except for people with disabilities.
Person Profile
- Knowledge of Employee Health and Wellness Strategic Framework. Knowledge of Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act COIDA, Occupational Health and Safety Act OHSA and its regulations. Understanding and application of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment HIRA.
- Knowledge of Incident Cause Analysis Method ICAM. Root Cause Analysis Technique RCAT for accident investigations.
- First Aid Training. International Organisation for Standardisation ISO 45001 & 14001 awareness. Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Health & Safety Management System implementation. Functional Computer literacy MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and MS Outlook.
