- M + 3 Matric plus 3 years of study Qualification with 360 credits or Diploma NQF 6 in the following fields of study: Safety Management, or other closely related disciplines at NQF level 6 or 7.
- Youth between 18 – 35 years of age, people with disability are encouraged to apply

Primary Function
- To minimize injuries and risks to the health of employees emanating from Council activities through the implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety programme in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993as amended by Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 181 OF 1993.
Key Performance Areas
- Assist with implementing and monitoring OHS policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
- Support workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments and corrective- action monitoring.
- Assist with recording and reporting occupational incidents, injuries and related OHS documentation.
- Support OHS awareness, training, fire drills and emergency preparedness activities.
- Assist with OHS Committee activities, compliance monitoring, record-keeping and reporting.

- Computer literacy including MS Office Applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Project management skills.
- Coordinating skills.
- Report writing.
- Good time management skills.
Core Competencies
- Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and relevant legislation.
