- Our client, a loving Afrikaans nursery school in Elarduspark, Pretoria East, is looking for a caring, responsible and energetic Nursery School Teacher / ECD Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.
- This is an excellent opportunity for someone who feels genuinely passionate about working with young children and would like to develop a long-term career in Early Childhood Development ECD or education.
- You do not necessarily need to be fully qualified to apply. Our client is open to candidates with different levels of experience and training, provided they have the right attitude, a genuine love for children and a willingness to learn and develop.
Suitable Candidates May Include
- A qualified ECD / Early Childhood Development / Nursery School Teaching candidate
- A candidate currently studying ECD, Early Childhood Education, Teaching or a related field on a part-time basis
- A Matriculant or school leaver who has a genuine interest in working with children and would like to study or develop within the ECD or education field
- Candidates with any relevant nursery school or early childhood training
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Fluent in Afrikaans
- Genuine love for and interest in working with young children
- Patient, caring and responsible
- Positive attitude
- Reliable and hardworking
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Comfortable working in an active, hands-on nursery school environment
- Own reliable transport
- Available to work Monday – Friday, 06:30 – 17:30
- Candidates who are currently studying must be able to study part-time due to the working hours.
- A relevant ECD, Early Childhood Education or Nursery School qualification will be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
Duties will include
- Caring for and supervising young children
- Assisting with daily nursery school routines
- Supporting age-appropriate educational and developmental activities
- Creating a safe, caring and stimulating environment
- Supporting children's emotional, social and educational development
- Assisting with meals, rest periods and general childcare
- Participating in classroom activities and play
- Maintaining a clean and organised environment
- Supporting the general day-to-day running of the nursery school
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children at all times
