One of our Clients in the Logistics industry, is seeking to employ a Night Shift Operations Administrator and Controller for their Durban Facility's Receiving Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cargo receiving administration, stock control, inventory accuracy, and supporting efficient warehouse operations during the night shift. This role is ideal for an experienced warehousing professional with strong system knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.
Duties & Responsibilities
Receive all inbound cargo by accurately processing Goods Received Notes (GRN) and capturing stock information on the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Freight Management System (FMS).
Generate and print stock labels, ensuring all inbound cargo is correctly identified and labelled in accordance with company procedures.
Monitor the receiving process for damaged stock and promptly report any discrepancies or damages to the relevant stakeholders.
Maintain accurate stock control by organizing, consolidating, and managing cargo within the warehouse as required.
Ensure all surplus consumables, including shrink wrap, top covers, and tape, are returned to the designated consumables storage area at the end of each shift.
Support warehouse housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly working environment.
Assist with incident investigations by documenting observations, capturing photographic evidence, and submitting reports to the Shift Supervisor.
Actively participate in Health and Safety initiatives, including conducting required inspections and supporting the Night Shift Health and Safety Team.
Identify and report operational, warehouse, and quality non-conformances to the Shift Supervisor or Receiving Manager for corrective action.
Provide support as a Tally Clerk during periods of staff shortages or increased operational volumes.
Assist with the investigation and resolution of file, tally, and stock discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory records.
Perform additional warehouse, operational, and administrative duties as reasonably required to support business objectives.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 (Matric).
Proven knowledge of, and practical experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Freight Management Systems (FMS), or similar cargo and inventory management systems.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Tally Clerk role and or within a warehousing, logistics, receiving, cargo handling, or import operations environment.
Demonstrated commitment to company values, including integrity, honesty, accountability, and teamwork.
Sound computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to utilize operational and inventory management systems effectively.
Willingness and ability to work permanently on an allocated night shift schedule, including weekends and public holidays where operationally required.
Possession of reliable personal transportation to ensure consistent attendance and the ability to travel to and from work during night shift hours.
Proven record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and dependability in a high-volume operational environment.

- Ability to perform under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
- Understanding of warehouse safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Package & Remuneration
R14 500.00 (TCTC) per month.
