Night Auditor / Receptionist – The Grey Hotel, Cape Town
The Grey Hotel, a boutique hotel in De Waterkant, is looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and responsible Night Auditor / Receptionist to join our team.
We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, takes pride in their work, and can manage the night shift independently with little to no supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcome guests and provide a warm, professional check-in and check-out experience. * Handle guest enquiries and assist with requests or concerns. * Manage reservations, bookings, and front desk administration. * Perform night audit procedures and ensure daily transactions and payments are accurately reconciled. * Prepare daily reports and ensure all records are accurate and up to date. * Monitor the hotel during the night and ensure the safety and security of guests and the premises. * Handle telephone calls, emails, and other guest communications. * Ensure a smooth handover to the morning shift.
Requirements
* Valid South African ID or valid South African work permit (essential). * Previous hotel reception or night audit experience is an advantage. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Friendly, welcoming, and guest-oriented personality. * Highly reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and responsible. * Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. * Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling payments and financial records. * Good computer skills and the ability to learn hotel reservation systems. * Calm, professional, and capable of handling unexpected situations. * Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Working Conditions & Benefits
* Shifts: 2 nights per week. * Remuneration: R450 per shift. * Transport contribution: R50 per shift. * Staff meal: 1 meal provided per shift. * Total cash remuneration: R500 per shift, including the transport contribution, plus one staff meal.
