Network Security Specialist

Introduction

Our client is looking for an experienced Network Security Specialist to support a critical cybersecurity and technology environment.We are looking for a senior network security professional with strong hands-on experience in network security architecture, firewalls, intrusion prevention, network monitoring, secure connectivity, vulnerability management and incident response.The successful candidate should have strong practical experience securing complex enterprise and/or industrial network environments, with exposure to both on-premises and cloud-based security infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure network architectures.

• Configure, manage and optimise enterprise firewalls and security appliances.

• Implement and maintain network security controls and policies.

• Monitor network traffic for suspicious or malicious activity.

• Investigate network security alerts and potential security incidents.

• Manage and support IDS/IPS technologies.

• Perform network security assessments and vulnerability assessments.

• Support network segmentation and secure network zoning.

• Implement secure remote access, VPN and connectivity solutions.

• Monitor and investigate network-based threats and attacks.

• Support incident response and remediation activities.

• Analyse network logs, traffic and security events.

• Implement and maintain network access controls.

• Support secure cloud networking and hybrid network environments.

• Work with infrastructure, SOC, cloud and cybersecurity teams.

• Review firewall rules and identify opportunities for security improvement.

• Support vulnerability remediation across network infrastructure.

• Develop network security standards, procedures and technical documentation.

• Prepare regular network security reports and risk assessments.

• Support security audits and compliance requirements.

• Provide technical recommendations to stakeholders.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 5+ years of relevant Network Security experience.

• Strong hands-on experience in enterprise network security.

• Experience across:

• Network Security Architecture

• Firewall Security

• IDS/IPS

• Network Monitoring

• Network Segmentation

• VPN / Secure Remote Access

• Network Vulnerability Assessment

• Incident Response

• Threat Detection

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching and network protocols.

• Experience with enterprise firewalls and security appliances.

• Experience with network security monitoring and analysis.

• Experience securing complex enterprise environments.

• Exposure to cloud and hybrid network security environments.

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, security controls and risk management.

Google Professional Cloud Security EngineerOT / Industrial Security – Advantageous

Where the environment includes OT/ICS infrastructure, the following will be advantageous:

• GICSP

• IEC/ISA 62443

• SANS/GIAC OT-ICS certifications

Relevant OT OEM certifications, including Siemens, Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, ABB or Honeywell. Candidates should clearly indicate their certification, issuing organisation
