Manage the Technical Function by ensuring the efficient maintenance and repairs  of  all  assets  (including  gear),  project  management  of  the manufacturing, sales and installation of generators.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the setting of annual trade /maintenance expense budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor all expenses relating to repair and maintenance so as to achieve or better budget results.
  • Further enhance staff capability by training them in new technology on an ongoing basis
  • Carry out special projects and other duties as directed by his/her superior.
  • In conjunction with Procurement, liaise with OEM’s to ensure the best quality product / service at the best price and at the right time
  • Manage and submit all warranty claims with OEM`s.
  • Mange and register all new manufactured generators.
  • Drive generator sales and oversee customer support to the existing and potential new customers.
  • Achieve national generator sales revenues and margin targets as agreed with management
  • Provide punctual and accurate reporting on budgeting, forecasting, branch and visitation reports.
  • Present new products and services to existing and potential new customers
  • Provide customer/internal stakeholders with feedback on work in progress.
  • Apply supplier pricing structures that are in line with sales and margin objectives.
  • Develop and present new business opportunities to Manco.
  • Organize and facilitate site surveys as required by customers.
  • Support financial management by assisting in recovering outstanding debtors.
  • Keeping abreast of market and competitor trends for generators
  • Maintain and promote good internal and external customer relationships.
  • Develop, maintain and support technical team.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Trade qualification in the diesel/mechanical field
  • BCom Business Management advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years’ experience in technical management role and strong technical experience on mobile cranes.
