Our client in the FMCG is seeking a strategic and results driven National Channel Manager to lead and grow key relationships in Cape Town Duties & Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the client’s account across the company group, overseeing product portfolios for both clients.
  • Develop and maintain the national account relationship with client, through customer engagement, formal account planning, and execution against agreed commercial targets.
  • Identify growth opportunities, track overall account performance, and drive profitable sales growth across both brand portfolios.
  • Monitor key commercial metrics including pricing, profit margins, promotional campaigns, overall market performance, and customer profitability while ensuring alignment with internal business objectives.
  • Partner with internal sales teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Management) to align operational priorities, meet service levels agreements (SLAs), and fulfil client expectations.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly feedback reports to business with supporting analysis and interpretation.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A relevant bachelor's degree in commerce, Marketing, Business Management, or a related filed is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in FMCG sales, key account management or channel management.
  • Proven experience in managing a national retail account is strongly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of FMCG retail trading principles, customer service requirements, and profitability drivers.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation, strategic planning, and account management capabilities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and communication skills to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Result driven, innovative, and opportunity- focused with self-motivated, autonomous work ethic.
  • High accountability, adaptable, and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and end-to-end planning abilities.
