MSS Clerk / Retail Systems Clerk

Our client seeks an experienced MSS Clerk to maintain accurate product, costing, pricing, stock and promotional information across its retail systems.

This is a data-intensive role requiring strong SIGMA experience, excellent attention to detail and a sound understanding of retail product costing, selling prices and gross profit. The successful candidate must be comfortable processing high volumes of information, investigating discrepancies and supporting stores with system-related queries. Duties & Responsibilities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric.

• Minimum 3 years’ retail systems experience.

• Experience working on SIGMA is essential.

• MSS experience is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Understanding of product costing, selling prices, promotions, stock and gross profit.

• Experience processing and validating high volumes of retail data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain product costs on SIGMA according to supplier invoices and returns.

• Import distribution centre and supplier electronic invoices.

• Maintain product costs and release updates to stores.

• Import store sales files into MSS.

• Create and maintain products, departments and sub-departments on SIGMA.

• Create and manage promotions as required.

• Maintain consistent selling prices and support the achievement of gross-profit targets.

• Monitor theoretical versus actual cost variances and investigate discrepancies.

• Review products reflecting negative gross profit or stock-on-hand balances.

• Ensure products are allocated to the correct departments and carry valid EAN codes.

• Process GRVs and store claims as required.

• Maintain costing and selling information for new products.

• Schedule and report on monthly hazard counts.

• Produce daily gross-profit monitoring reports.

• Support stores and management with MSS queries, data checks and general system administration.
