The role

Compiling designs, detailed plans and short-term schedules for major mining activities on the mine
Compiling of weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual reconciliations as part of compliance to plan reporting
Supply required information for weekly marketing and management plans
Assist in compiling weekly review planning meetings presentations, as well as the monthly planning meeting
Liaising with other Activity Engineers with regards to integration of mine plans
Liaising with various other departments including, but not limited, Survey, Geology, Environmental, Mining, Metallurgy and Engineering
Assist with annual budget/LOM process

National Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering with MO Certificate OR
Relevant underground mining qualifications MO Certificate advantageous WITH recognition and recommendation for prior learning / experience

Minimum 6 years' experience with either; 2 years appointed as a Shiftboss in a relevant mining production environment OR 2 years relevant experience as Planning Officer
Experience with Mine Planning software including, but not limited to Deswik, XPAC, 3D-dig, Microstation, Talpac, Dragsim
Knowledge of underground mining activities
An appreciation of legislation relating to the mining industry, as well as applicable procedures
Ability to work under pressure and variable workload
Be willing and able to work overtime and over weekends if and when the requirement arises
Good analytical capabilities
Good communication verbal and written skills
A high regard for safety
Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office package Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Valid driver's license and own transport
In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
