Job Title: Millwright Technician Start Date: 2026-07-22 - 2026-08-12 Vacancy Type: Permanent DBN003581 Sectors: Engineering / Technical / Production / Manufacturing / Motor Location: South Africa - KwaZulu Natal , eThekwini West (Hillcrest / Hammarsdale) Salary: Brief: Position: Millwright Department: Maintenance Reporting to: Maintenance Manager Location: Cato Ridge Manufacturing Plant Purpose of the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for executing maintenance plans, servicing and repairing plant equipment, monitoring associated infrastructure, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance plant reliability, efficiency and safety within a manufacturing environment. A hands-on, safety-conscious Millwright with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, capable of maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment while driving continuous improvement initiatives will be the ideal candidate for this position Detail: Minimum Requirements Millwright Trade Test. Minimum 3 years' experience in a processing or manufacturing plant environment. Knowledge of FSSC 22000 food safety standards. Basic welding experience will be advantageous. Key Competencies Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, VSDs and pressure equipment. Good problem-solving and analytical ability. Ability to work independently and within a maintenance team. Strong commitment to safety, quality and housekeeping standards. Key Responsibilities Maintain pumps, gearboxes, mills, steam cookers, VSDs, instruments, pressure equipment and related plant machinery. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out repairs. Follow planned and condition-based maintenance schedules. Collect CBM data and implement maintenance recommendations. Maintain instrumentation and analytical systems to maximise plant availability and efficiency. Enforce Lockout Tag Out (LOTO), conduct risk assessments and ensure SHEQ compliance. Review maintenance plans with the Maintenance Manager and monitor maintenance KPIs. Support food safety and quality standards in accordance with FSSC 22000 requirements.
