Millwright

Main Purpose of the Job To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and systems used in the processing of steel coils, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. The Millwright is essential to maintaining operational continuity, safety, and product quality in a high-paced, heavy industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Installation and Commissioning •Assemble and install new machinery and mechanical systems used in steel slitting, recoiling, pickling, and galvanizing lines. •Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals. Maintenance and Repairs •Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic presses, cranes, and coil-handling systems. •Diagnose faults and implement efficient repairs with minimal disruption to operations. Alignment and Calibration •Perform shaft and coupling alignments using laser tools or dial indicators. •Calibrate mechanical equipment as per manufacturer or operational specifications. Safety and Compliance •Adhere to all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work systems. •Ensure compliance with OSHA or equivalent industrial safety regulations. Collaboration and Reporting •Work closely with electricians, operators, and engineers to solve complex issues. •Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, parts used, and time spent. Emergency Response •Be available for emergency repairs during breakdowns or unexpected shutdowns, including night shifts and weekends.
