A leading manufacturing company is seeking a qualified and experienced Millwright to maintain, repair, install and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.
- Attend to equipment breakdowns and restore machinery to working condition.
- Install, assemble, dismantle and maintain machinery and plant equipment.
- Align machinery and equipment using appropriate tools and measuring instruments.
- Replace defective components and adjust clearances, alignment and tension.
- Perform fitting, drilling, bolting, welding and general mechanical work.
- Lubricate and maintain machinery and equipment.
- Inspect plant equipment and identify potential maintenance issues.
- Monitor breakdowns and ensure maintenance is completed efficiently.
- Report breakdowns and maintenance requirements to the Maintenance Manager.
- Adhere to all OHS policies and safety procedures.
- Supervise and take responsibility for the safety of assistants where applicable.
- Work overtime and respond to breakdown call-outs when required.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Red Seal Millwright qualification – essential.
- 4–6 years' post-apprenticeship experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Manufacturing experience required; feed mill experience advantageous.
- Team leadership or supervisory experience advantageous.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English or Afrikaans.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own reliable transport.
- Willingness to work overtime and attend call-outs.
