MFT Administrator
Description
We are seeking an experienced MFT Administrator for a Banking client based in Johannesburg. This role is available on a permanent or contract basis and requires a hybrid working pattern with three days per week onsite. The successful candidate will administer and support enterprise managed file transfer solutions, with a focus on Connect:Direct and IBM Sterling File Gateway. Local candidates only; no third-party sponsorship or company-sponsored visa CVs will be considered.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Connect:Direct and IBM Sterling File Gateway environments in production.
- Manage SFTP, FTPS and AS2 integrations and oversee certificate lifecycle and PKI activities.
- Provide production support, incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Design, implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
- Integrate with IBM MQ and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator for end-to-end message and file flows.
- Automate deployments and infrastructure configuration using Ansible and Terraform.
- Integrate MFT services with APIs and collaborate with application and integration teams.
- Manage and tune scheduled jobs using Control-M and support scheduling-related incidents.
- Participate in change management and release activities, including deployment windows.
- Create and maintain operational runbooks, documentation and knowledge transfer materials.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrable experience administering Connect:Direct and IBM Sterling File Gateway in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of SFTP, FTPS and AS2 protocols and hands-on experience with certificate management and PKI.
- Experience with IBM MQ and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator is preferred.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform for deployments and configuration management.
- Experience operating enterprise schedulers such as Control-M.
- Proven production support and troubleshooting capabilities, with a focus on stability and incident resolution.
- Ability to work onsite in Johannesburg three days per week.
