Job Purpose

  • The Doctor Detailing Rx Representative is responsible for educating, promoting, and detailing Austell's pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, particularly doctors, in their assigned territory. The role involves building strong professional relationships, increasing product awareness, and driving sales growth while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities Product Detailing & Education

  • Promote and detail Austell's pharmaceutical products to general practitioners, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Effectively communicate the clinical benefits, indications, and usage of products through one-on-one meetings and presentations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest medical and scientific information relevant to the product portfolio.

Relationship Building & Territory Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Plan and conduct regular visits to doctors, clinics, and hospitals in the assigned territory.
  • Identify new opportunities for product promotion and business growth.

Sales & Performance Monitoring

  • Achieve sales targets and objectives as set by the company.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and feedback from healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, sales data, and feedback using CRM tools.

Training & Development

  • Attend ongoing training sessions provided by Austell to stay updated on product knowledge, medical advancements, and sales techniques.
  • Continuously improve presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

Compliance & Ethics

  • Adhere to pharmaceutical industry regulations and ethical guidelines.
  • Ensure all promotional activities comply with company policies and medical marketing standards.

Pharmacovigilance Responsibilities

  • Clearly communicate the safety profile and risk information of products to Healthcare Professionals, ensuring accurate and compliant messaging in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, document, and promptly report any adverse drug reactions ADRs, product complaints, or safety-related information to the Pharmacovigilance PV or Quality Assurance QA department in accordance with company procedures and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the PV team to support any follow-up requests related to safety information or ADR reports from Healthcare Professionals.
  • Accurately log medical queries, product-related safety concerns, and customer feedback to the appropriate internal teams for timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Participate in pharmacovigilance training sessions to stay updated on current safety reporting procedures and regulatory obligations.

Required Qualifications & Skills Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a medical science field Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, or related discipline.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to absorb and relay complex medical information effectively.
  • Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being a team player.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
