A specialist medical practice is seeking to recruit a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to manage the front desk and provide efficient administrative support. The ideal candidate will be confident dealing with patients, skilled in appointment coordination, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a warm and professional approach.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the electronic diary and schedule patient appointments
- Send appointment reminders via SMS and follow up by telephone
- Prepare patient files for the doctor two days in advance
- Obtain and file blood test results
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and emails
- Refer relevant correspondence and enquiries to the doctor
- Welcome patients and manage consultation times
- Answer telephone calls, take messages, and ensure they are communicated appropriately
- Issue invoices and receipts
- Process credit card payments
- Maintain accurate and organised patient records
- Perform general reception and administrative duties.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric / Grade 12
- Previous medical reception or administrative experience advantageous
- Sufficient relevant experience may compensate for the lack of additional qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with medical practice software advantageous
- Experience with Elixir Live advantageous, although training will be provided
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Monday to Friday, 08h00 – 17h00
